Phase Two of the Freedom Lake Discipleship Journey offers a dedicated dorm within the facility’s Substance Abuse Program (SAP) for men who have stepped into leadership roles within the ministry’s discipleship program. Selected by their peers, these men uphold Christian faith values, dedicating daily time to immersing themselves in God’s Word, supporting one another, living with integrity, and deepening their relationship with God. This partnership with the facility’s SAP programming presents a unique opportunity for these men to address substance abuse issues while simultaneously nurturing their spiritual growth and fostering accountability.

The discipleship dorm serves as a sanctuary where men can concentrate on their spiritual development away from the negative distractions associated with prison life. Here, they find the peace and solitude necessary to renew their minds through the study of God’s Word and to model a transformed way of life within the facility. Through this holistic approach, men are empowered to experience transformative change, giving praise to God for the renewal of their lives. Upon their release, they are equipped with the necessary tools to share their testimonies, ultimately spreading the message of the gospel.

The next phase of the discipleship journey takes the men one step further. Before graduating from the SAP program, eligible men from the discipleship dorm can apply for the third phase of their discipleship journey: the Freedom Lake Discipleship Experience. This phase offers additional support and resources to aid in their transition back into society while continuing their spiritual journey, representing a crucial milestone in empowering men to lead meaningful lives grounded in faith and spiritual maturity.
