Freedom Lake Ministries was born out of a simple but powerful conviction: no one is too far gone for Jesus Christ to redeem, restore, and use for His glory.
What began inside the prison system has grown into a Christ-centered discipleship movement that walks with men impacted by addiction, incarceration, and brokenness as they discover who they are in Christ and learn to live a whole new way.
For many men, the journey begins behind the walls of a correctional facility—often in a season of crisis, surrender, and spiritual openness. Through Bible studies, worship, mentoring, 3Thirds Discipleship groups, and obedience-based discipleship, men are introduced to the hope of the Gospel and invited into a life of transformation.
The question we continue to ask is the same question many men ask after baptism:
What happens next?
That question became part of our calling.
A Continuous Pathway of Christian Formation
Freedom Lake Ministries exists to provide a continuous discipleship pathway that begins inside the facility and continues into life beyond incarceration.
Through the Ministry Hub, men are surrounded by a church-like environment inside the correctional facility where they can grow in faith, build godly relationships, and begin practicing a new way of living.
Through the discipleship program, each man receives intentional spiritual formation, individual and group training, and practical discipleship designed to help him understand his identity in Christ and grow as a disciple-maker.
For those who apply and are accepted after release, the Discipleship Lodge provides an immersive environment where men can continue living out Christian practices in daily life. Here, they learn to balance faith, work, responsibility, community, leadership, and ministry while continuing to grow in spiritual maturity.
More Than Recovery
Freedom Lake Ministries is more than a recovery program.
We are a Christ-centered discipleship ministry helping men break free from cycles of addiction, incarceration, and generational brokenness by becoming disciples of Jesus who make disciples.
We believe lasting transformation happens through the power of the Gospel, the work of the Holy Spirit, and intentional relationships rooted in biblical truth.
Men are not simply taught how to stay sober or avoid returning to prison. They are discipled to follow Jesus, rebuild their lives, lead their families, serve others, and multiply what God has done in them.
A Church Within.
A Movement Beyond.
Today, Freedom Lake Ministries continues to serve inside and outside the prison walls through discipleship groups, worship gatherings, mentoring, leadership development, reentry support, and the Discipleship Lodge.
What God is building is bigger than a program.
It is a church within the walls where men encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and are equipped for a new life.
And it is a movement beyond the walls as men carry the Gospel into their homes, families, churches, workplaces, and communities.
