Helping men address the trauma, grief, addiction, and other barriers that can stand in the way of lasting transformation.
Addiction and incarceration rarely affect just one area of a man’s life. Many of the men Freedom Lake serves carry experiences of trauma, grief, substance use, broken relationships, and unhealthy patterns that can continue affecting their lives long after incarceration ends.
The Health & Wellness Resource Center connects men with voluntary professional care, oral health services, recovery resources, and practical support that complement the Christ-centered discipleship and Christian community already surrounding them.
Because lasting transformation means walking alongside the whole man.
BEHIND EVERY MAN IS A STORY.
Trauma, grief, addiction, incarceration, family separation, and loss can shape how a man sees himself, relates to others, and responds to the world around him.
Addressing those experiences doesn’t replace personal responsibility. It can help men understand unhealthy patterns, develop healthier ways of responding, strengthen recovery, and begin rebuilding relationships.
When we address more than the consequences, men have a stronger foundation for lasting change.
SUPPORT BEGINS
BEFORE RELEASE.
Men don’t leave trauma, grief, addiction, damaged relationships, or unmet health and dental needs behind when they walk out of a correctional facility.
That’s why Freedom Lake begins connecting men with trusted support, including oral health education and access to dental care, while they are still incarcerated and continue walking alongside them through transition and beyond release.
That continuity of care helps men stay connected to people, care, and resources they already know and trust during a time when stability can be especially important.

The Health & Wellness Resource Center does not stand apart from Freedom Lake’s mission. It strengthens the Discipleship Pathway.
When a man begins healing from trauma, sustaining recovery, developing healthier relationships, taking responsibility, and growing spiritually, the impact can extend into his family, church, workplace, and community.
And as he becomes a disciple-maker, what has been invested in him can be invested in someone else.
OUR GOAL IS BIGGER THAN SUCCESSFUL REENTRY.
Successful reentry matters. But our goal goes further.
We want to see men become healthier, more stable, and better equipped for life—strengthening their mental and emotional wellness, sustaining recovery, developing healthy relationships, taking responsibility, building leadership skills, and living with purpose.
By addressing barriers that can contribute to repeated cycles of addiction and incarceration, the Health & Wellness Resource Center helps men build stronger foundations for themselves, their families, and their communities.
